As you can see, I even wear a helmet whilst driving - that's for just a little bit more saftey, which is always the legal way. One of the happiest times of my life was when I joined the cult of Life Mechanics I soon got into gear and took a seat in the driving lane of life My friends were all pretty surportive It was something of an irony that the colapse of Life Mechanics forced me to live in my car Now that I was literally in the parking lot of life, I needed a new direction So I joined The Police And now I solve all your pop problems - the legal way!

Like A Prayer - The Official Review - Track-by-track!: 1. Like A Prayer - I'll agree with Fly Girl C on the 'God?' version being far superior, but I've always thought 'Like A Prayer' was a bit shit. Nice use of a door slamming in the intro, though. 2. Express Yourself - Any song that starts with the exclamation 'Come on, girls!' is going to go down a treat here at Michael Albarn-Bush Towers but, again, The Immaculate Collection version is heaps better. I've never been a big fan of the synthesised trumpet... 3. Love Song - Controversial opinion here, and I know I shouldn't, but I have an irrational love affair with 'Love Song'. It's not just because it's Prince and Madonna, either, although that certainly helps. It's so much sexier than it has any right to be. 4. Till Death Do Us Part - 'Till Death To Us Part' is just strange. A song about an abusive relationship really shouldn't sound like that. 5. Promise To Try - One of very few Madonna songs that makes me cry for genuine emotional reasons. 6. Cherish - Apparently Geri is releasing a cover of 'Cherish' at the end of the summer. That would be shit. Not because 'Cherish' is shit, but because 'Cherish' isn't very good. I don't love it. I don't hate it. It's just frippery. And it's quite nice. The video is good, as well. 7.Dear Jessie - I know I shouldn't, but I really like 'Dear Jessie'. I think it says something about me when my favourite song on what is often held as Madonna's second most serious album features the lyric 'If the land of make believe is inside your heart it will never leave' and 'Where the mermaids sing as they comb their hair'. But there you go. The pomp-pomp bit 2 minutes five seconds in is ace as. 8. Oh Father - It's odd that I should like such a serious song from Madonna's religious period, but I do. 9. Keep It Together - 'One, two, three, hit it!'; 'Keep-keep it together!'; 'Blood is thicker than any other circumstance!'; what's not to love?! The Blonde Ambition version is ace, as well. 10. Pray For Spanish Eyes - I went through a period where I thought this was the greatest song in the world, and listened to it every day, but I can't even remember the tune, now, or any of the lyrics, which suggests that it's actually a bit shit. NOTE: Apologies, for not including a picture of the heaps bonza Like A Prayer cover art, but the new Blogger interface is shit, and I don't know how to work it.
